Mercy Health Partners Seeks Applications for the Sister Simone Courtade Grant Program

(March 14, 2012; Muskegon, MI): Mercy Health Partners (MHP) is seeking proposals for the Sister Simone Courtade Grant Program, a key component of MHP's Community Benefit Ministry.

The Sister Simone Courtade Grant Program (SSCGP) empowers local nonprofit organizations to address community health needs. This grant is funded through an endowment from the Sisters of Mercy and is administered by the Mercy Health Partners' Mission Services Board Committee.

For the 2012 grant cycle, priority will be given to nonprofit organizations that are working to address health needs, especially obesity and smoking, in Muskegon and Oceana Counties. Priority will be given to programs that specifically target poor and underserved members of the community.

Grant applications will be considered in one of the following two areas:

  • Tier I: Programs that directly address community health needs as identified in MHP's Community Health Needs Assessment.

  • Tier II: Projects that closely align with MHP's mission and values but may not allow for clear health outcomes.

The deadline for receipt of submissions is Friday, June 1, 2012. Awardees will be notified in June 2012. Visit www.mercyhealthmuskegon.com/sistersimonegrant for the grant application or contact Joseph O'Meara, Vice President, Mission Services, Mercy Health Partners' Mercy Campus, at 231-672-4440 or omearaj@trinity-health.org.

The Sister Simone Courtade Grant Program funding process is an annual program.
