Our Cafeteria & Dining Options

Café

Our café is a great place to take a break while visiting us. Grand Rapids Magazine has rated our hospital cafeteria #1 among hospitals in Grand Rapids.

Located on the main floor of the hospital, we offer a variety of serving stations including soup of the day, a 36-item salad bar, hot entrees, made-to-order deli wraps, hot-off-the-grill sandwiches and a frozen yogurt station. We also have themed days, with every Tuesday featuring our Around the World food selections, and every Thursday starting in April, we fire up our grills for a grill out. If you're on a budget, don't worry — the average cost of a complete meal is just $3.75.

Our café is handicap accessible, and is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are microwaves available for your personal use.

Meals are served at the following times:

• Breakfast: 7 a.m. – 10 a.m., Monday – Friday (Continental Breakfast served on weekends and holidays)

• Lunch: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Friday

• Dinner: 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

• Late Night Café: 11 p.m. – 1 a.m., Monday – Friday

Quick Dining Options

If you're short on time, our Grab-and-Go Café on the first level of the Peter M. Wege Center for Health & Learning, is ideal for you — serving a variety of healthy selections from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.

The Lacks Cancer Center also has a quick dining option. Located near the Lafayette entrance on the first level of The Lacks Cancer Center, The Shoppe offers a broad selection of coffee, teas, smoothies and other beverages as well as a mix of salads, sandwiches, soup, bagels and more. The Shoppe is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Vending

Vending is available 24 hours a day and offers a variety of items including sandwiches, snacks and soft drinks. Vending is located in the corridor leading to The Hauenstein Center. There is also a microwave oven and a change machine available.

Guest Trays

Patients can invite a guest to dine with them in their room. Meals can be paid for by credit card or with a gift card available from The Shoppe (located on the first level), or from the cafeteria, gift shop or cashier's office in the Main Hospital. We apologize that we are not able to accept cash.

Guest Meal Prices: $7.00 per tray for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. To place your order from within the hospital, dial extension 1234. Your selection will be delivered within 45 minutes of the time of your order.
