Sister Simone Courtade Grant Program

The Sister Simone Courtade (formerly Strategic Initiatives for the Poor) grant program was created by the Sisters of Mercy to support, strengthen and sustain our organizational Mission in community. The specific intent of the fund is to help poor and underserved residents achieve a better quality of life by improving their health and overall well-being through investment in community programs that address quantifiable community need. All nonprofit community entities are encouraged to apply for the grant.

For the 2013 grant cycle, priority will be given to nonprofit organizations that are working to address health needs. Priority will be given to programs that specifically target poor and underserved members of the community.

Grant applications will be considered in one of the following two areas:

• Tier I: Programs that directly address community health needs as identified in MHP's Community Health Needs Assessment. Download the 2012 Community Health Needs Assessment Summary.

• Tier II: Projects that closely align with MHP's mission and values but may not allow for clear health outcomes.

The fund is administered through the Mercy Health Partners Mission Services Board Committee.

The 2013 application deadline is Friday, May 10, 2013. Awardees will be notified in June 2013.
